MINISTRY TO THE ELDERLY
Ministry to senior adults in the church span a wide range from the newly retired to age 90 +. St. Mary Parish recognizes their value in terms of wisdom, experience, knowledge, talents and other God given abilities and gifts. We celebrate these gifts, share their losses, and encourage faithful living across the age span. We want to promote full integration, where our older adults share talents and faith with the whole parish community.
Adult Social:
Monthly bingo and luncheon for senior adults is on the second Friday of the month (September thru May). The ‘Suga Bees’ of the parish prepare and serve the lunch for those who attend. All Senior Citizens are invited. For more information regarding volunteering to cook and/or serve the meals, please contact:

Anointing of the Sick:
The Sacrament of The Anointing of the Sick is a prayer for physical healing and strength as well as for the spiritual strength to accept the limitations of our physical bodies.
This prayer is a great comfort to the sick person, and should be celebrated early in any serious illness, not just at the end of life.
You may request the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick prior to admittance, or when you are in the hospital. If you are homebound, or in a healthcare facility (either permanently or temporarily), please call the parish office as soon as possible. If you are not able to inform the parish, ask a member of your immediate family to do so. You may request Anointing of the Sick, as well as Communion, Confession, and/or pastoral visits.
